The Journey of Bringing a Personalized Wapuu Assistant for WordPress to Life
Creating WapuuGotchi, a personalized Wapuu assistant for WordPress, has been an exciting and rewarding journey for our team. In this blog post, we’re pulling back the curtain and giving you an insider’s look at the work in progress, sharing some of the key milestones and achievements that have brought us to where we are today.
Laying the Foundation
- Our project lead registered the domain wapuugotchi.com, marking the first official step in bringing WapuuGotchi to life.
- To establish a strong online presence, our social media team created profiles on Instagram, Twitter, Mastodon, and Facebook, where we share updates and engage with the WordPress community.
Building the Infrastructure
- Our developer team set up a GitHub organization repo to host the plugin files and graphic materials, providing a collaborative and organized environment for development.
- The design team refined the Wapuu components that can be customized within the plugin, ensuring a user-friendly and visually appealing experience.
Designing the Website
- The design team installed WordPress and built the WapuuGotchi website using the free Kadence WP theme, creating a modern and attractive online hub for our project.
- To generate engaging content for social media and the website, our design team utilized Chat GPT-4, an advanced language model, to craft compelling copy tailored to our audience.
Developing the WapuuGotchi Plugin
- The developer team refactored the proof of concept for the WordPress plugin “wapuugotchi,” streamlining the codebase and ensuring compatibility with a wide range of WordPress installations.
- Our developers built various APIs to hook into with the plugin, allowing users to create their customized Wapuu with ease and flexibility.
Creating an Intuitive User Experience
- The UX/UI team worked diligently on designing the backend view for the Wapuu customizer, ensuring that users can easily personalize their Wapuu assistant and navigate the plugin’s features.
